Paper requirements for electrostatic digital printing
1. Appropriate electrical properties
The digital printing machine using the principle of electrostatic printing is a printing method that uses the electrostatic attraction of positive and negative charges to transfer ink powder. Therefore, the electrical properties of the paper-such as resistivity and dielectric constant-should be controlled at an appropriate level, paper with good conductivity, such as aluminum foil-lined paper, can even produce arcing phenomena (non-conductive parts or accidental charging of the air), resulting in damage to the machine and poor print quality. Or within the specified weight range of the equipment, while the equipment users use it beyond the outline, the longer it will cause inevitable damage to the equipment.
2. Uniformity and surface smoothness
The quality level of printed matter printed by electrostatic printing principle requires high uniformity of printed paper: the distribution of fibers or fillers in the paper must be uniform, and the smoothness of the paper surface is also critical to the quality of pigment transfer. After the pigment reaches the paper surface, it is mostly fixed by hot pressing. Therefore, the smoothness of the paper surface, surface chemical properties and heat treatment properties must also be mastered at the appropriate level. In addition, paper containing stearates and plasticizers can cause stains on digital printer photoreceptors, causing problems.
3. The temperature and humidity of the paper
Printing paper in the transportation, handling and storage process by the ambient temperature and humidity lead to changes in water content, the principle of electrostatic printing digital printing quality is very influential, therefore, the relevant warehouse, printing workshop should use air conditioning to control the temperature and humidity of the paper.

Daily maintenance
Daily maintenance is an important guarantee to ensure the stable operation of digital printing machines. Therefore, it is very important to carry out daily maintenance continuously and correctly. In the process of daily maintenance of electrostatic digital printing machines, the following points should be paid attention.
(1) Suitable room temperature is an important prerequisite for ensuring printing quality. Continuous high temperature weather on the plant air conditioning system is not a small test, enterprises in the maintenance of digital printing machine, do not forget to maintain the normal operation of the air conditioning system.
(2) in the morning and evening of the maintenance process, it is necessary to focus on checking whether the powder bin needs to be cleaned.
(3) If it is found that there are silicone oil bars on the surface of the fixing roller, or "oil bars" appear on the printed products, the silicone oil on the surface of the fixing roller should be cleaned in time. Otherwise, once the water in the silicone oil evaporates, the residual components adhere to the surface of the roller, and then the high temperature effect, it is difficult to get rid of, which will affect the printing quality. The surface of a good fixing roller should be smooth, with a small amount of silicone oil attached, and have a certain luster.
(4) The cleaning belt of the fixing part is available on both sides. There are two types of cleaning belts for the fixing portion, I .e., a cleaning belt for the fixing roller and a cleaning belt for the pressure roller. The electrostatic digital printing machine cleans the fixing roller and the pressure roller automatically. The cleaning surface of the cleaning belt will be dirty after being used for a long time. However, if you install it upside down, you can also use its reverse side for cleaning, thereby saving costs.
Maintenance of the sensor part
There are countless sensors on the electrostatic digital printing machine to ensure the mechanical action of the equipment, color detection, position tracking, etc., so the maintenance of the sensor is essential.
(1) Cleaning of color density detection system. The color density detection system is an important component to monitor the color deviation in the printing process. If the color density detection system is not clean, as if people wear dirty glasses, the color they see will be different from the actual one. The method of cleaning this part is very simple, just use the finger cotton sleeve to clean it. In addition, in the monthly maintenance, the printing enterprise also needs to clean the transmission receiving part corresponding to the color density detection system under the paper conveyor belt.
(2) Cleaning of the automatic paper correction sensor. The automatic paper correction sensor is an important component to ensure the correct relative position of the printed graphic information and the paper. If this sensor is dirty, it is easy to cause paper skew, misprint and other faults. If it is suddenly found that the position of the graphic information on the paper is abnormal, it is likely that the sensor is dirty and should be cleaned in time.
(3) cleaning of toner sensor and exposure head. The cleaning of the two is usually carried out simultaneously in monthly maintenance, and the imaging unit needs to be removed and cleaned with a soft cotton cloth. If the cleaning is not in place, failures such as uneven print density may occur. In addition, the maintenance process of this part needs to be very careful, and it is best to complete it with professional engineers.
Maintenance of professional parts
(1) Cleaning of the imaging unit cleaning assembly. In electrostatic digital printing, the bar failure on the printed product is mostly caused by the unclean imaging unit. The imaging unit itself has a cleaning component that automatically cleans it, and the cleaning component itself also needs to be cleaned, especially the internal copper blade. If the copper blade is severely worn, it cannot clean the waste powder on the imaging unit, causing the waste powder to transfer to the paper to form a bar. The cleaning component of the imaging unit should be cleaned at least once a week, and if the printing volume is large, it should be cleaned more frequently.
(2) Clean the charging parts inside the machine. Poor charging of electrostatic digital printing machines will definitely cause serious bar failures, so be sure to maintain the charging parts inside the machine. When cleaning the main charger, pay attention to the grid and electrode wire should be cleaned with water. After cleaning is completed, wait for 15~30 minutes, and the water can be turned on after it is completely dried.
(3) Maintenance of blanket cylinder and blanket cylinder cleaning components. Both can be maintained at the same time. When the rubber cylinder is maintained, a special cleaning kit is required and the instructions are followed. The cleaning process of the cleaning assembly of the blanket cylinder is the same as the cleaning process of the cleaning assembly of the imaging unit, which will not be repeated here. Among all the consumables, the life of the rubber roller is relatively long. If regular maintenance is done, its use time will be longer, and the quality of the printed products will be maintained at a high level.
Maintenance of paper conveying parts and peripheral accessories
The transmission part is the key part of the printing press. Once there is a problem, it will directly affect the quality of the printed product or cause the paper jam. The peripheral accessories can also indirectly affect the quality of the printed product, so it is necessary to maintain the two.
(1) Maintenance of paper path transmission components. The paper conveying component carries the task of paper conveying. Whether it is single-sided printing or double-sided printing, the paper must pass through a long paper path. If there is dirt on the paper path, it will be directly transferred to the paper. For example, poor cleaning of the paper conveyor belt will cause bottom ash to appear on the print. Cleaning all conveying rollers and belts can effectively prevent the prints from being dirty, and most importantly, it can also prevent the paper from being overprinted.
(2) the maintenance of peripheral accessories is also very important. For example, the maintenance of the air conditioner is related to the humidity of the paper and the static electricity of the environment. If the right paper passage is not properly conveyed, the paper will be stuck on the way. Poor paper feeding in the paper box will lead to paper jam and other faults. In addition, before and after the holiday should do a whole-body cleaning of the electrostatic digital printing machine, so as to ensure that the dust and toner on the machine will not become difficult to clean stains, this cleaning should focus on the active part of the equipment.
After the basic maintenance of the electrostatic digital printing machine after work every day, automatic electrostatic treatment (APS) is required, and then one or several proofs are made. If the proofs are no problem, you can continue to work. If there are problems, you need to strengthen equipment maintenance. Changes or minor faults that can be seen on a daily basis are relatively easy to deal with, but if you don't do a good job of maintenance, the problems will be difficult to deal. If today's printing quality remains the same as 20 days ago, it means that equipment maintenance has played a very good role and needs to be maintained.
